"...another reason I'm intrigued with the hanged of Salem, especially the women, is that a number of them aroused suspicion in the first place because they were financially independent, or sharp-tongued, or kept to themselves. In other words, they were killed off for the same sort of life I live right now but with longer skirts and fewer cable channels." Sarah Vowell, The partly cloudy patriot.

Scout's honor

I am totally not lying about this - but one of my students seriously wore something almost exactly like this to class on friday.

When you say 'almost', you mean higher neck, yes?? It wasn't that low cut, is that right???
Dear God.... would dearly love to see one of the students at my uni like that, be so funny!

You can only legitimately wear an outfit like this if you star in a television show where you routine get in catfights and fall in a swimming pool, and the advertisements all begin "Esta Sabado..."

That outfit conjures the phrase "boobs akimbo"... and wtf for class?

Lina: When I say "almost" I mean it was a top, not a dress. It was exactly that low cut - so much so that there was almost some poppage.

chaser: that is hilarious, and so true.

sheepers: have you become cockney? replaced your "i" with a glottal stop?
